The Roman Beanfeast is really good for learning more about the Romans. Our favourite character was Davey. In the book the teacher tells the class to make something for their roman project and whoever had the best model would win the roman prize.
But a classmate called Molly kept on stealing Davey’s ideas.
They went to a Roman fort when they first started learning about the Romans. When it was coming near to the Roman prize Davey made a Julius Sneezer out of:
Two pyjamas from the rag drawer.
Two old pairs of tights.
A worn out pillow case.
And a pile of newspapers.
He put it all together to make a Julius sneezer. On the day of the roman prize they had a roman feast. After they had eaten the feast they announced who the winner was. They looked at all the models and the teacher showed everyone Davey’s Julius Sneezer…
We really enjoyed the book because it was funny to read about the battles the two children had when they were making their models.
We also liked it because we have been learning about the Romans and making models for homework too!
