| Just three days in school for children this week so homework packs can be brought in a week on Friday (2nd October). This week we will be writing about life in our iron-age village which has been named ‘Caledurnia’. Meanwhile onThursdays we have been learning about Roman llife...clothing, jewellery and housing. We are all going to try particularly hard to increase the amount of written work we can produce in 40 minutes! On Tuesday after school Durness Diggers are holding ‘Tattie Tuesday’ : a café selling some of our own zero-food miles delicacies, home baking and teas…and plenty of weird and wonderful tatties J. The Kenyan blog is now set up on the website so hopefully I’ll be able to post photos of the primary schools I’m visiting. Mrs Morrison is going to post comments and questions…and I’ll try and get Kenyan children to answer them. Everyone can join in so please do J Mrs Morrison will be teaching extra days while I am away. There will also be a SSPCA assembly (30th Sept) a workshop on glaciation from a Geo-park Geologist (7th Oct) and the Sing-a-long Concert in Kinlochbervie with Mrs Muir (8th Oct). Homework for Friday 2nd October and Friday 9th October Ø Maths: Please complete the Monday-Thursday mental maths problems. We do the Friday assessments in class. Ø Spelling : Please learn the list of new words (write out at least 2 times in the booklet) Ø Caledonia: Continue with the activity from the grid: remember to ask for help or resources if needed.
