Here are some more of our finished ocean-themed craft items. We created them by sewing layers of different blue fabrics together using metallic thread, then some of us sewed beads onto these layers to create a background. We made the fish using scraps of fabric which we machine-sewed together with the help of water-soluble fabric, which helped hold it all together while we were sewing. The fish were sewn by hand onto the background, and we mounted the finished picture into an embroidery hoop. Great job!👍
We have been making different craft items to tie in with our Oceans theme. We have used various skills and techniques; making a template, measuring, hand sewing, machine sewing, cutting, using water-soluble fabric. holophrase. It means a word that functions as a phrase, for example Help! Go! Stop! PREVIOUS WORDS OF THE WEEK: bibliomania (bib-lee-oh-MAY-nee-a). It means an excessive fondness for acquiring and possessing books. Try to use this word (in the correct context!) over the next week to earn an extra Dojo point. Look out next week for my new Word of the Week! Our focus this term in writing is poetry. We are writing different poems with an Ocean theme, learning about the tools poets use to create interesting poems. We have practised using alliteration, similes, metaphors, onomatopoeia, refrain and personification. Why not have a look at some of our poetry from this term? Click here
