We now have the beginnings of an Iron Age hill fort in our classroom (thanks to James for the wooden board.) This week we can start building the ramparts and the roundhouses. I’m sure we will be inspired by Wednesday’s trip to the wheelhouse…the weather forecast is looking good!
Reading This week we are starting our group reading books- they are all fiction books with a Roman theme. We have a whole class non-fiction reading comprehension lesson each week too. Everyone has their own choice reading for pleasure book too- these should be kept in schoolbags as they are for both home and school reading.
Sumdog : click on the logo to log on Everyone now has there own password and it should be possible to log on at home. We can now access Sumdog Reading games too; these are quick-fire sentences, testing both vocabulary and punctuation. Sumdog is slightly different this term…it should adjust to your child’s level after they have completed several tasks. Homework for Friday 7th Sept
Maths: Please complete the Monday-Thursday mental maths problems. We do the Friday assessments in class.
Spelling : Please learn the list of new words (write out at least 2 times in the booklet)
Caledonia: Begin to work on your second activity from the grid: remember to ask for help or resources if needed. (hand in date Monday 21st Sep)
