Hope everyone enjoyed the bank holiday weekend. We have been learning how to effectively use metaphors in our poems about the sea. We hope to post some for you to read soon. In group reading we are reading two classic novels : P7 are reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and P5/6 are reading 20,000 Leagues under the Sea by Jules Vernes. As part of our Ocean Challenge we have been investigating seawater in science. this photo shows what happens when fresh water (dyed red) and salty water meet...in the kyle, a rockpool, the sea...and in the Dead Sea. The salty water is more dense and sinks to the bottom. Bring a pound for Nepal On Friday P7 are organising a survival exercise in the school grounds to highlight the essential things for survival: shelter, food and clean water. | This week we will be learning about famous mythological characters : Medusa, Pandora, the hydra ,unicorns and Pegasus. |
