Red fever is a book written by Caroline Clough. It is an adventure book set in Scotland. Red Fever is about a virus that has killed most people on Earth leaving Scotland an empty land overrun by wild dogs.
The main character Toby is a boy who is surviving with his family. He is constantly trying to find medicine for his ill little sister Sylvie. Horrible Pirates intimidate them and hungry dogs are howling at the doors ; will they find Sylvie’s medicine before it’s too late? I really enjoyed this book; it really has a great realistic dialogue. I think it is aimed at ages 9+. I learnt a few things from this book. It has also improved my reading and writing. I personally would give this book 8 out of 10 because of the fantastic text; it was real and believable. Also because the general idea is great, having an adventure, futuristic book is a very good idea especially to readers who enjoy adventure stories.
I recommend this book to all; I was extremely happy with it. It could appeal to adults too.
